Walk in Surgery
This service has been designed to help when you are unable to see your own GP. You do not have to be registered with this practice and visiting us will not affect your registration with your current GP. We are however registering new patients should you would wish us to be your registered practice.
We can treat minor injuries and illnesses including:
- Wounds, eg. superficial cuts, bruises, minor burns, animal bites and provide tetanus boosters.
- Muscle and joint injury, eg. strains, sprains and back pain.
- High temperature, headaches and dizziness.
- Ear nose and throat infections.
- Eye care, eg conjunctivitis, styes, removal of foreign bodies.
- Stomach ache, indigestion, constipation, vomiting and diarrhoea.
- Dermatology and skin complaints, eg, rashes, minor allergic reactions, head lice, sunburn etc/
- Genito-urinary problems, eg urinary infections, thrush and menstrual problems.
We offer lifestyle/health promotion including:
- Emergency contraception.
- Pregnancy testing and advice.
- Sexual health/lifestyle advice.
- Counselling.
- Stress management.
- Smoking Cessation
- Weight management
Health screening and Chronic Disease Surveillance including:
- Monitoring of chronic disease, such as blood pressure checks.
- Phlebotomy.
- Cholesterol and blood sugar testing.
- Nurse-led musculo-skeletal assessment.
